In 1917, the watch movement company Schlup & Co. from which the Rado brand would later emerge from, was founded. In 1957, the Rado brand name was used for the first time. From then on, Rado would present many new advances in the watchmaking industry, starting with the first scratch proof watch in the world, the Rado "DiaStar", launched in 1962.
Continuing with ground-breaking technological advances, in 1997, Rado presented the Rado "Vision 1", a timepiece with the hardness of a genuine diamond, and earned the company a place in the Guinness Book of Records.
Not content to make only technological advances, Rado has also continually been on the cutting-edge of design for some time. The Rado "eSenza" launched in 2001, meaning "it is without", was the first timepiece without a crown.
A company that truly prides itself on breaking the mold of the traditional horology world, Rado offers consumers the opportunity to wear timepieces that are genuinely contemporary and unique.
